A Signal Mountain native, Dr. Stephen Soufleris is a highly skilled gastroenterologist who is excited to offer specialized services to his hometown community. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, he completed medical school, internal medicine residency, and chief residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He subsequently completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Dr. Soufleris’s approach to patient care emphasizes clear communication to ensure patients fully understand their medical condition and its overall impact on their health. This shared understanding facilitates the development of individualized care plans based on current guidelines, leading to informed, shared decision-making.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Soufleris enjoys cooking, particularly Greek cuisine, as well as traveling domestically and internationally.

He is excited to return home to Chattanooga along with his wife, Dr. Ellen Soufleris (a pediatrician), their daughter, and dog Orzo.
